New DAW and Drum VSTi got their in the end... Bit of an extreme solution to an issue with drums though, isn't it? Getting a new DAW and Drum VST just to resolve this issue seems like a bit of overkill. I think he means since he's using a new daw/vst he was having issues :) Not the first blonde mome...

Tbh your post makes no sense... by double bass kicker do you just mean the drum rolls/builds? If so, find a punchy kick sample and pretty much remove all but the transient of the drum - this'll give you a punch but will ensure when you create a drum roll/build that it doesn't get messy. I'm sure if you produce you have single shot samples of various drums, so go to
