Flippo Live @ Void Aus Dubstep Showcase, 2008
I finally dug this old recording up 3 years later, hehe. http://soundcloud.com/flippo/flippo-live-void-aus-dubstep Great memories of a super fun night. There are couple of train-wrecks and some overtly enthusiastic pitching due to having started drinking 13 hours earlier at Melbourne airport! The se...

Re: Musical Chinese Whispers
grooki, I think can enforce the 'one listen only rule in a way. You can make a soundcloud acount, disable downloads, and make sure that the tune is only listened to once or twice. also, share the track privately etc, I'm up for it sounds like fun. I didn't know you could restrict number of plays in...

New Blog - featuring Ableton 8-band crossfader turorial
I started a blog, and to kick things off I've done a tutorial on one way to create a DJM-2000 style multi-band cross-fader in Ableton Live.

This will be excellent, no doubt. Symbiosis has the finger on the pulse and so does Spherix.

some lovely samples in there, many run through tape to give you some nice harmonics to work with.

Re: Deep Autonomic - who else can't get enough of it?
anyone know where i can find minimal samples like tihs??? if you're using ableton, the collision drum synth is brilliant for building gorgeous minimal percussive sounds imho. I'm sure there are similar drum synth VST's around if you're not in abelton. Otherwise you're generic Roland type samples ar...

Re: Deep Autonomic - who else can't get enough of it?
WIP here, certainly inspired by these sounds. Not much DnB in it to speak off apart from the sequencer tempo though, more on an miscellaneous electronica tip. http://soundcloud.com/flippo/chalk-wip Could put some attack on the kick and give it a bit more of a DnB vibe, maybe just for live shows. :t:

Re: First iPad DJ
my post on another forum so many cringe worthy moments in that video. It's like its satire for people who actually have some idea about audio. "... you've got a cross fader, so you can switch between this iPad, that iPad... and then put them in the middle and hear both beats together, which is ...

Re: RADIO -- SUB FM -- ROKO -- 17-APR-10 --- THE MULLET
flippo - grind ps [unreleased] This tune is not at all ready for radio/podcast; I'm not even finished with the composition, let alone the mixdown or mastering. We've had this discussion about works in progress 3 times now. I don't mind works in progress being listened to privately, some of them I d...

3 story club-sized tree-house in sub tropical rainforest, complete with as much vintage visual gear your optics could handle. No I'm not making it up!
I'd post pics but they honestly do not do it any justice what-so-ever, was an incredible space.

Re: anyone make tracks with no beat
I used to find it easier to write stuff with no beat, and would usually compose a few minuets of pads and ambiance and then end up leaving it at that. That's started to change recently though as I have started forcing myself to begin with rhythmic elements straight up.

Re: anyone make tracks with no beat
make quite a few, most of them have remained on my hard drive for now - some may well end up on an album of EP one day. http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=42532 < one at the end of that mix that I quite like. and one on the soundcloud - a remix of a kuma track (different to another version ...
