A car alarm is basically something like a squarewave oscillator being pitch modulated by a sawtooth lfo. But yeah, kicking cars is probably a lot more fun.

Topic: what kinda synths were Garage guys using for basslines?

That's a damn good question Joe.

Listening to Wookie and Artwork I decided that they were using samplers for the bass, probably layered samples of analogue synths. A lot of old samplers had analogue filters so that would help with the sticky creamy lushness.

But yeah, we want answers!

Or put a tiny fade-in at the start of the sample. I think Live does this by default. You should def be able to do it with Soundforge. But as eLBe said you can try and start the sample on a low value - there might be a 'snap-to-zero' option in Soundforge as well.

The fight spilled out up the road where the bouncer came back with 2 stab wounds.. so big ya self up bouncer, done your job properly. Obviously no-one on this thread actually saw what happened but if this account is true then what was a doorman doing half way up the road fighting? I'm sure there's ...

Yeah that was really, really good. Only surprised because it was Audio on a Friday night, not my usual preferred entertainment option ;) That ridiculously noisy thing that Chef played :!: I think the decks were a bit fuckled but Chef and Coki brought some proper vibes. Some of Coki's tunes are so ru...

Mala's set was bless - a beautiful thing. Starting with something I'd never heard before but sounded like Jamaican classical music (someone said it was Count Ossie), some Earth A Run Red and choice dub. Conference, Haunted, Lean Fwd, Dread Commandments, Stuck, Forgive....:) The Count Ossie thing so...

Garage, you don't know about garage,
We smear dwarves with shit and cabbage.

And don't try and tell me about your mp3 sales,
We roll deep in baby's entrails.
