Its all in the mix

Whilst wavs are better i would always prefer a well mixed 320 mp3 over a badly mixed wav.It might be more cost efective to get a good relationship with a stateside studio because since sept 11 all goods going into the US do not always arrive unopened but if you insist on cutting in the UK then pm me...

Dubwoofa showed me an acetate from Transition of scare them. It had lower output and less punch than the vinyl cut I got of the same tune from Henry (dubstudio) So my conclusion is: it all depends on how much time the guys doing the actual mastering and cutting puts into it! (not trying to say tran...

about the high frequency cut, this makes great sense, since you can't cut frequencies above 13000 hz to dubplates anyway. Incorrect, The Neumann cutting electronics is accurate upto 16k which does not mean that it will not reproduce anything higher. And nearly every sound engineer you will meet, ma...

Re: Soundproofing

My last house was lovely, because the parents room was over the other side of the building and we had the both floors to ourselves but since moving in to our new place the rents room is basically next door, on top of that we have an 11 month old baby in the house on top of That, the walls seem to b...

The system was a Technics SP-15 turntable with Audio Technica LT-12 tone-arm, Ortofon cartridge.
If it is a concord stylus then that is probably the culprit,Have you tried another properly aligned stylus?

I thought a vote would be good. I will take like 30 second cut and stick it next to the original so people can hear the original and final mastered version side by side? I suggest that if you are going to upload a 30 sec clip for people to vote on then the track should only be 30 secs long ,When yo...

Most jobs that we get are stereo files not stems.I think this needs to be the case to make it a fair competition. Also how are you going to decide who wins?

I have M447's and I think they have really bad sound quality. They are really easy on your records, but the highs are really bad. Both has terrible sound quality. M44G isn't much better, but it needs only 1,5grams on a record. Hi frequencies sound terrible with both carts...believe me. i agree whol...

Re: Needle (cartridge) advice, please

I'm currently running a pair of Stanton 505V3s and am going to upgrade as soon as I decide which to go with. Am debating over these two, but suggestions on other ones of a different make are welcomed. They're used to mix dnb and some dubstep, if that is a factor. Ortofon Concord Pro S http://djdeal...

Re: dubstep bass response

hey folks, I've never got a flat out answer for the average bass response level on songs in dubstep ... I've always assumed that it drops to 30hz ... Is this accurate? i'm looking to build a PA system and it seems that dropping below 40hz is going to up the cost considerably because it takes much m...
