Re: What is the lowest note you use for bass?
OK. I understand everything about standing waves and room acoustics etc , but what I was trying to get at was that below C say, it just is not bass anymore... and that extends a bit higher than C in my opinion.. I dont use D anymore, and usually not E either. I can just about make myself use F, but ...

Re: What is the lowest note you use for bass?
So what do yall reckon? cos I have recently done a sketch of a track, and I think the bass note (single bass note track) is G. I have found this to be too low as when I compare it to tracks with higher bass notes it does not come through as well on several systems.. but as I mentioned before it is a...

What is the lowest note you use for bass?
I have not really been using any notes under about G sharp recently, as I have found that the bass doesn't really sound right, and it sounds more powerful around A or higher. The thing is I have noticed in tunes by looking at spec analysers that there do seem to be lower notes in tunes, and was just...

how to get my tunes to labels
Hi, I have been making tunes for years and finally i have my first one I am happy to send off to a label. I used to be into dnb and knew loads of people to send the tracks to, but being a bit alien to the world of dubstep I have no idea. Can anyone help me with sending my tunes to a decent label pre...

yeah cheers guys that does help. I also make dnb, but ive only recently figured out how to utilise rex files etc, ive always been cutting up loops for single hits but my drums just never sounds as complex as other peoples, i can get a good 4 bar loop, but no real progression from that. I know dubste...

Utilising Loops
How do you go about using loops (if at all) to make drums? ive recently gotten into using rex files and have heard that people then pitch the original loop up or down, or replace the hits with their own samples, or both... I was makin my drums manually for ages but using rex loops is pretty cool, ju...

no not at all, and i was worried id get that response, but let me ask you if you mix ? the main reason for my question is a dj one... wouldnt it just sound weird if the snare is one off eachother when mixing? basicly, what defines dubstep then, 140 bpm? because psy trance is around there, and that a...
