Re: Shadam - Budapest Bass Music Mix /bass music, deep dubst

This mix is in heavy rotation on my nanopod and car. It just flows well. Thanks for creating this.

Re: Classical samples

What is the legal restrictions of sampling stuff like this? You just can't sell it for profit right? the legal restrictions are pretty straight forward. It's illegal to distribute it period, even if it's not for profit. Although money is typically the primary motivation in copyright infringement la...

Has anyone had any luck creating Skrillex like bass in Z3ta+ 1 or 2?

Re: Piracy and its effects

very compelling. I know it was very common for the record label people to leak songs to mixtape djs because the buzz actually generated more sales despite the fact that they wopuld publicly complain about them.

Re: Piracy and its effects

One of the reasons that these discussions never seem to remain civil is because it always seems to drown in semantics and red herrings being thrown. Piracy is a complicated issue due to the fact that morality is a very subjective thing that does not always coincide with legal definitions. Even the c...

glad to know it's not just me. Thanks for the encouragement. I'm thinking of starting from the ground up and using nothing but my dated hardware and acoustic instruments for awhile. *Dusts off the MMT8*

Overcoming the "Never Finishing Tracks" Phase?

It's hard to admit this, but I figure I'm not the only one who has ever done this. The past year I have become interested in dubstep and have started attempting to produce it but I honestly have not finished one track. I have tons of started tracks, but I find myself abandoning them because they eit...

most people make fun of FL because FL stands for "Fruity Loops" (I had to laugh while typing that) but the bottom line is that it's made by cakewalk and anyone that has been using computers to make music for more than 10 years know that cakewalk has always been on the top of their game ju...

Sonar 7 Producer has a tool (V-vocal) that does pitch to midi conversion. Like most tools of it's type the signal has to be clean and monophonic. It's not half bad if you want to hum a tune and turn it into midi notes.

Why all the wobble hate?

I know some of you vets are sick of being asked the same questions about how to create wobble, but it seems lately the contempt has spread. Maybe some of the posts are in jest, but I noticed quite a number of posts that seem to put down any use of wobble as being a bad thing. Granted, there are prob...

I really need to get after effects. I have been experimenting with particle illusion, which does some amazing things, but has nothing like trapcode included (to my knowledge). I started to create some splattering blood effects for the video i did to this tune, but got lazy lol.

I took this song (with permission. big thanks) and made a short video inspired by it. I shot it on my really cheap camcorder mounted on a homemade stabilizer I was testing out. Let me know what you think.

i think Acid is a pretty good program. A lot less complicated then sequencers in the Logic/Cubase class. Very weak with midi, but capable for small midi tasks like bass lines. have you tried Reaper yet? It's not technically free, but you also can use it infinitely without cracking. If you are using ...

Being a synth programming newbie, I still don't get how everything works, but I am having far more luck with Pentagon than I am with zeta. i am absolutely synth illiterate and managed to "twist some knobs" until I got a decent wobble.

I never understood why people see the need to down products other than their own personal experience with that product. With that said, I do think it's not a bad idea for a newbie to give reaper a try. You have nothing to lose. I also don't know if XXL is the way to go before trying the synths being...

Good stuff. Can you suggest any of the ones on the linked page that specifically combine dubstep and hip-hop?
