Please recommend me a mix or more.
Hi, I haven't downloaded a mix in over a year or so. Call me old fashioned but I like the sound of Dubstep from circa 2006 and 2007 when it was a bit more garagey using more samples and deeep triangle and 808 bass sounds . I don't really care for half time synth wobble fests and would like to know i...

HAHA! I was wondering how to do this sound the other day and I cracked it. I used a freeware synth called voyager for this but essentially you will need any synth with * 2 oscillators * 2 LFOs that can be assigned to the filters, and preferably with phase control offset so you can make the LFOs out ...

get your facts right.
http://www.soundblaster.com/resources/read.asp?articleid=53937&cat=2 No ASIO on Creative labs cards? What nonsense. decklyn talks very loudly and would have you believe he is an expert due to authoratative tone he uses. Read Sound on Sound or Electronic Musician if you want advice. gobbledy-guc...

shonky has thrown open the gates. I'm running through with him and I'm going to make out of it Dubstep. Alex Van Halen, cool. Cheers Luke, I will do what I feel. I'm not trying to find out how small people think the cage is, I'm trying to find out how high people think the sky is. Right on Salva, I ...

I have no immediate plans to take up acerbic Dubstep criticism as a hobby, don't worry. I think I would rather avoid giving comment on bad/boring tracks than say anything at all; If I ignore it maybe it will go away. I'm not in the habit of giving feint praise though. So if someone goes Bump Bump BU...

I don't think I'm comparing the two. But as has been pointed out before there are many people that have entered the Dubstep room on a jaded DnB night to stay in a metaphorical and real sense. They aren't they same thing. But they do share parallels, DnB was spawned in the gritty urban landscape as a...

What is too wac for Dubstep?
The general sound of Dubstep as far I can tell (I'm fairly new to Dubstep, and this forum) is fairly open minded and experimental. Its not often you here two indistinguishably similar tracks mixed together on mixes or at the club (I've only been to two Dubstep nights, Mala in Auckland and Skream who...

Thats me in the ramones shirt in the middle. It was a wicked wicked night. 2 hour set, brilliant. It was diverse and spiritual, such a nice vibe. It was interesting to see some DnB dj's turn up after just finishing there gigs. The Antiwar re-rub was the bomb that turned Galatos to rubble. Any NZ Auc...

I read the license agreement on the website just then. to paraphrase: 1. Samples must be either originally synthesised, or completely mashed and resampled versions of other things completely twisted into something new. 2. Samples of factory presets are not allowed unless they have been butchered int...

Freesound Project
For those who don't know about it, freesound project is a cool website where users can upload original samples for download by other users on the site. There is lots of useless sounds on the site but it could be very cool. I just joined and have uploaded possibly the first "dubstep" tagged...

noob, new to the forum and fairly recent to dubstep
Just wanted to say hello, I'm from NZ and have been downloading a few mixes from the forum over the past months and really like the sound. I especially like the Subhuman mixes, so deep, so nice. I've been a DnB listener with deflating interest over the last few years as a disease called Pendulum has...
