I know what you’re saying, but I think it’s too low. Doesn’t have to be solid, but it will be largely non existent on anything other than the biggest systems. I’m at work with some decent Sennheiser phones which actually emphasise bass and I can barely hear the subs.

yeh i should really state that i love Reason, and think its a great programme. i am just stunned at the idea that they (Claro Intelecto in particular) could get sound like that out of it Talented bastard basically. From what I've heard done by people who are really good with their tools (and person...

I did hear that some of Claro's stuff gets mastered at some legendary Berlin house, yes!

To me it's just a case of awesome EQing and compression. It can be really hard to get those deep chords (which sound crap with all the low end rolled off) to sit with those kicks and the subs that characterise their tunes. You're right, though, their tunes just sound so thick and plump.

Met Andy Stott and Claro Intelecto at Bloc and they both use only Reason. Enough said really. serious?! surely something else too surely Nah man, I'm serious. I said to both of them, "Come on fellas, let me into a secret, what gear are you using? How do you get that warm sound of yours." ...

Sorry, forgot to say: The thing that irks me is the request for MINIMAL TECHNO samples. Just use any fucking sample. There's no such thing as a minmal sample. It's ridiculous all these packs that fit into genres etc. Minmal is generic enough as it is without people thinking they have to have a minma...

What's the fucking difference between a kick out of a TR-909 and a kick out of a sample pack?! It's the same frickin' thing. It's not the sounds u use but how u use them. If u think the fact that you sculpted every little drum hit from nothin suddenly elevates your music above everything else then y...

I love Calibre but that's a little weak. Just slow and boring. Where's the funk, where's the movement?

without regressing into factions - that's one of the things that's still exciting about it. That is the main problem with dubtechno , the choice is limited . ,t does all sound the same so my collection is big but consists of about 15 artists/labels . Where as if you look back to the beginnings of t...

I recommend spending more and getting the Elacin ones. I spent 160 quid on them but they fit like an absolute dream, are super comfy and you can choose what dB level you want cut off the sound. Went for the 15s myself. A mate has the 25s and I don't know how he can hear anything. Think they come in ...

What this thread needs is someone who actually plays their tunes on a rig at, say, PLastic People. Everything else is just speculation.

But for the record, my new tunes, with no sub bass as such but rather a sub heavy kick, has the sub 100Hz frequencies hitting about -6 as well.
