Re: Kent dubsteppers who are ya?/What's going on in Kent?
Anyone around Margate on the 18th May should get down to The Brackett. We got 3 floors of bass, catch me in the Dubstep room (obviously) playing along side: Stenchman and Suspect, Doomtrooper and Dr. Bloodnugget, make sure you check out the UK Garage and Drum n Bass rooms while you're at it! Re: How to Become a SoundCloud Superstar, One Fake Fan at a
I don't really see the problem with the producer's behaviour in the article, it's another form of self promotion. I've often seen a track covered in comments and curiously had a listen, i can't tell you a single one of those tracks tho. The problem lies in the way in which soundcloud works, i don't ...

Re: What's my best bet for a ~1000$ sound system?
Your best bet is to google systems that are available for hire in your general area, look at the specs of the systems and then have nose around ebay and places like that to get a feel for prices, try and find the events they're being used at so u can hear (and see) how suitable they'd be for your ow...

Re: Garage hat shuffle
Don't use a piano roll, pick a drum machine with a step sequencer. Get your main kick and snare pattern down, then add some of the off beat kicks, turn on the shuffle function and use like, 3 diff hi hat sounds, make sure you put down the off hat first, so the hat that occurs between the kick on bea...

Re: What are DJ's actually doing when...?
Wow, only took 2 pages for this to turn into the ever returning format wars thread. Some people enjoy the skill and application of different music formats. OMG. :corntard: Please, please, if you're going to do this argument again and again, PLEASE don't use scratching as an example of why people sh...

Re: Coki gives up vinyl, switches to CDJs
i don't really see laptops as taking over, cdjs are about the convenience, loosing a bunch of CDs isn't the end of the world, plus they're ultra portable not only would u have to carry ur laptop/interface/controller around with you, you'd be constantly worried about ppl damaging ur gear

Re: Coki gives up vinyl, switches to CDJs
It's so much easier to mix on cd decks, i'll never give up my vinyl but i bought a cd deck off my mate a few months ago, more because he needed the money and i didn't want him selling it to someone we didn't know, i thought i'd only use it for playing my own tunes in sets but from when i'm used payi...

Re: Mac Mini for production?
I use one, it was the cheapest option. At the time i was studying for my music production degree and primarily using Logic so i needed an Apple computer to run it. I've got the 2.53Ghz Core 2 with 4GB of ram and it runs lovely, it's crashed a few times, maybe 4 times in 3 years, i think that was due...
