Re: Best vocal microphone for £150

Been using an SM58 but fancy an upgrade / switch to a proper vocal mic. :u: SM58 is an awesome microphone for selected vocal types/recording environments and should not be dismissed as a 'improper vocal mic'. I know, I just fancy spending some money on a dedicated recording mic for sung vocals. The...

Best vocal microphone for £150

Apologies if this has been done before, not been on the forum for a while and search doesn't seem to be working properly? What should I be looking at for £150? Been using an SM58 but fancy an upgrade / switch to a proper vocal mic. Any suggestions? Do I need to spend more to get a noticeable differe...

Assuming you're running a genuine copy of Ableton, personally I'd get a second hand Macbook / Macbook Pro. Add in 4GB RAM and a 500GB 7200rpm drive for less than £150 and you're away. A PC may be cheaper and there might be a few random VSTs that you can't get for Mac but the overall experience of ru...

Yeah it's non-exclusive so I can put it out at any point in the future if I want. This contract is only for the release on this particular compilation so any further releases would have to be agreed. They guy I'm dealing with seems pretty sound and they've had some relatively big names on their labe...

Thanks for all the responses. Probably should have mentioned that it's not a Dubstep track - it's electropop! There's about 15 separate artists on the unmixed compilation. that is the most non legally worded contract i have yet to see It's copied from a Heads of Agreement and there's more than just ...

3 CDs and 3 vinyl sets which seems fair to me. It will just end up on my wall anyway!

Look over this contract for me please!

Got our first tune coming out on a various artists album in October. Nothing major - it will probably sell 500-1000 altogether. I have no idea if this is an OK deal or not. Obviously I'm not expecting to retire off it but I just wanted to check I'm not signing my life away. Is 6 years a standard lic...

Not sure that mastering (do you mean mixing?) is something that I would be worrying about if I'd just started producing. Most normal producers don't ever really understand how to master and don't ever really have to.... it's what mastering engineers do. I'd worry more about song structure and learni...

There is are only two reasons to buy a Mac. The first is to feel good about your consumer gullibility, the second is to use Logic. Assuming you're thinking about using Logic, that's one hell of an expensive program purchase!!! :( I guess it could be likened to buying a Porshe. Fun, sexy (apparently...

new macbook with 4 gigs... cant go wrong. That should've read "old macbook with 4 gigs". Lack of firewire is a killer on the new macbooks. Personally I run a 2 year old MBP which has everything I need. I've actually recommended a mate buys an old white one (still on sale on Mac website), ...
