really, dubstep is not different from any kind of music, if we're talking about pure reproduction of sound on a large soundsystem. EQ's are just used to filter out the room frequencies that are resonating. These freqs make it too busy and loud, in a negative way... So you play a very VERY well produ...

Virus B is good for wobbles. Yes, you can use it as a synth for trance, like any synth. But saying that a virus B is for trance is pretty ignorant, IMHO. The first thing to do is learn to program sounds and delete the presets from every synth you buy. Anyway, I made very good wobble basses with Dave...

find me a record made in the last 100 years without some kind of reverb digital/analog/natural whatever flat beat - Mr Oizo The song's bass and scratch sounds were made on a Korg MS-20, the drums on a TR-606 and an Akai S1000 was used to sample everything including the MS-20 bass. No effects were u...

yes they exist, but I don't have any link nor suggestion.
Maybe you're better of when you learn some music theory, or buy guitar tuner.
A 'new' thing is Melodyne. But still, you need a 'clean' sample...

Try the machinedrum forum:

plus a simple tip: when I get stuck I always try hard and harder to get all the answer I need, by myself (without asking anyone). The solution will last longer that way and is more rewarding

If you love your ears/hearing (and you do!), and are becoming a pro, go to a good shop and let them produce personal earplugs. This is way better than standard plugs, because you don't feel them, once plugged in! It's worth the investment (80-120 pounds, I guess) and you have to do this once in lots...

don't forget when sampling from vinyl you are messing with analog vs digital domain. Like apples vs bananas. Digital is much louder. Personally, I record vinyl peaking at -6 dBFS, while 0dB on de analog mixer. But is still sounding quiet. In Europe somebody set a standard: -12dBFS = 0 dB VU, if I re...

...the endless discussion... I don't think it's a discussion about better/worse, I think the flow is just completely different. In either way both options have benefits which are superior to the other. Not to say that a man/woman makes the music, not a machine...But, here's my 2 cent: software benef...
