I'd only worry about it if they're releasing records already or if you think it's imminent. Whoever gets there first wins basically...change now if you want to avert an upheaval later on.

Dubstep has a healthy dubplate and vinyl culture though...think you'd miss out a significant portion of the market (and the people who do a lot of the stealth promoting) if you don't press up too. Maybe press if the downloads go well?

This is great stuff. Was wondering, if you get a dub cut at say Transition, is a lacquer made which you can use for pressing up with, or is it cut straight into vinyl and you have to get it re-mastered to create a lacquer? no. As J from Transition said earlier in the thread, the mastering process i...

Does anyone else feel that the scenes reliance on dubplates kind of makes TPs and Promos a bit redundant? no, they're for different purposes: dubplates are one-offs which are cut before a tune is released. This is good for 'road-testing' a tune i.e. seeing how a crowd responds, and is the only way ...

furthermore, without grime, dubstep has become what it is now. and you are all more than welcome to it. I disagree. I think a large percentage of dubstep has turned into what instrumental grime SHOULD have turned into. indeed...........its all went tits up after garage and bare ppl using fruity, an...

Re: Nu-Dubstep

is it now time for the fringe elements to return to the Underground Garage tag The tag Garage was always confusing to me though, what with Garage Rock, US Disco Garage...and some UK punk & post-punk bands being tagged as Garage too. I think Dubstep is a great term and vaguely descriptive enough...
