if your soundcard doesn't have any sort of control panel I'd be very surprised.....If it doesn't I would swap it asap.

Can't go wrong with the KRK VXT series. My VXT-6's are well loud and produce bass well enough. :D

"I know it's probably posted in a sticky up the top"

Did you honestly think there was a hotlink in a sticky on the top to tell you where to pirate software?

Pianoteq sounds beautiful. Very expressive and realistic from the audio demos I've heard.

Intense compression/limiting going on there. He brings his pads and atmospheres to the forefront rather than the background! Compress the shit out of reverb on your snares etc...I also find a lot of times that his samples are quite dirty, but his synths clear as fuck. Hope this helps.

Anyway, legit version of komplete here and everything runs smooth as hell. Save up some $ for massive, it's well worth it and it's not too expensive.

easiest sound to make in the world. Just a single saw/sine (or multiple if you're feeling saucy) with a bunch of portamento on it and some slight filtering.

Ive been producing with just them MonoMachine and MachineDrum for the last few weeks. I go through periods where I just use software or just use hardware, but usually use both. It does affect my output. The process always affects the outcome. Not in a bad way, just different.

Depends on what synths I'm using really....

Massive and Twin 2 I do it all from scratch. Absynth and FM8 I tend to use presets

I recommend staying away from the triggerfinger if you want to use this live. The knobs and sliders are small and break off easily.

How many hours do you spend on a tune in a single session?

Where do most of your drums come from? Sample CD's? Sampling other tunes? Breaks?
