the show is gonna be fantastic, I am really stoked!

The title "abortion" is suppose to exhibit a sense of seediness and grungy-ness, like an illegal abortion in a back alley. As well, exhibiting a sense of being anything BUT proper or "appropriate." This theme reflects the nature of the music ...

it's all respective, if you have a strong sub bass you cut the sub of the kick, if you have a weak bass, don't cut the kick, and cut the frequencies of the bass around the higher end of the low end of the kick.

higher end of the low end of the kick.
huh

So say you have a kick that has lots of ...

kicks: if you have a heavy sub bass (40Hz-60Hz) cut the low end of your kick anywhere from 70hz-100hz.

snare: i usually cut everything until about 200-400hz. and then I lower the hi shelf about -6db around the high end where the bright part of the hats are playing

hats: boost a bit of the highs ...

yeah, denon cdj's and pioneer cdj's are pretty well known for keeping solid and lasting long. A lot of people I've read on forums attested to that, and so far I've had my cdj's for a while and it's been good, and they feel solid.

Just go with what suites your needs, I don't think one is "better ...

I own 2 denon CDJ1200's and yeah I had to decide between cd and vinyl. (they are great by the way)

here are the reasons:

1. I can spin all the tracks I download, which some people will disagree, but if you are a part of certain internet groups, you will get more exclusive albums/releases (at ...

hey everyone, thanks for your feedback, some helpful suggestions for sure.

I would like to know more about how people get into that state of mind that gets them producing good songs, and less about music theory (not that mt is unimportant). Where do you get your inspiration from? What kind of ...

weird,

well, assuming there are no effects, i don't know. the fact that it would work on a shorter bar indicates, i guess, that's it's not your sounds card's latency.

if you upload a couple of screenshots of live with the track selected, and then the midi clip selected, I might be able to help. I ...

hmm,

well I'm assuming your using drum rack or impulse? Perhaps the sample you are using for your kick has some silence in front of it inside the actual sample. You can cut that off if you open up the sampler in the drum rack pad.

coming up with melodies

hey everyone,

I've finished a decent amount of songs, and I know enough about synthesis that I don't use presets anymore, but I'm in a totally brutal jam lately just coming up with some melodies or synth programs that I like. Like I can spend 3+ hours on the computer and get up and be like "damnit ...
