"core is in your core" like dark music, you can't make really dubcore, breakcore, speedcore, terrorcore etc... if you aren't melancholic and/or sad, misantropic and so on....

Fully disagree! An artist doesnt need to suffer to make suffering art... or something like that. Closest I can get to ...

I'm going to buy max/msp/jitter one of these days. Once I have some free time.

Totally worth it, but it does take a long time before you can really do anything with it. I have built many a rediculous FM synth in it though due to the fact I can have as many oscilators going to as many others ...

More crust, but I saw Beginning of the End from London last night and they were fucking destructive. Female vocals and ragingy fast d-beats by the bucketload.

i think its funny that somone mentioned running synths and such through guitar amps, because the hardware/software argument is very similar to the argument between guitar players regarding solid state vs. tube amps( in that people seem to think one gives a warmer tone)

His Hero Is Gone seconded. Reminds me how much getting blinded to raging crust is also. Skitsystem for the win.

I tend to run alot of sources through my valve guitar amp head (it's a Sovtek). It seriously fattens everything along all frequencies and has a direct-to-desk output. It pretty much "de-digitalizes" anything. It could possibly make a chip-tunes sound analouge.

Some freaky sounds can be made from Malstrom, that's for sure. I don't really use Subtractor atall but maybe I should go back and have a look at it... Too many synths, too little time!

are a more pure sound, a lower deep end, added warmth/noise (!)

I'd like to have an empirical proof for that. I doubt there is one.

Empirical proof? How about an analouge hardware synth makes pure sine/square/saw/triangle waves and software can only render them at a certain resolution, building ...

The parametric EQ can be pretty good, as can the maximiser. Most of the MClass mastering units are pretty good to be honest.

Huge Anticon fan. The Hymie's Basement record is one of my all time favourites. I love a bit of Why? aswell, thoguh I'm still not so sure about his new one.
