i can recommend the ZOOM H4n.
i got 4 of these guys at work and think they´re a decent option for a good price.
the built-in mics sound okay for simple recordings but i prefer using external condenser-mics.

true that. i tried with reason 4.0 (any vst´s at all) and it just didnt feel comfortable. even bouncing down ...

imo useless for production/ djing with these specs:

1024x600 resolution
Atom 1,6 GHZ CPU

i tried on my msi wind (same specs, reason/cubase/samplitude) -> fail

workaround: cut of the alpaca´s legs. it wont run out of sync then.
