Interesting thread. Maybe we could up the comments on how to improve productivity?

For me, I finish about 1 tune a month that I like (i.e. play out, distribute to DJs). I tend to make a tune, junk the elements I'm not feeling, make another tune with the good bits from the last tune, and so on until ...

I wonder whether the solution is to leave the banter and jokes up for a while, but to periodically go through the more important (and bigger) threads and delete anything that isn't obviously informative.

Someone earlier pointed out that DSF isn't a Wiki. Perhaps we should make one? Or just add a ...

Hi - There're a bunch of threads about this elsewhere in the forum, btw. Search the 'dubstep' and 'production' areas.

:)

Can't give much advice myself as I'm unsigned, too, but the consensus seems to be to get your tunes to DJs, and to try and build a personal relationship with DJs and labels ...

Instead, find what you really feel and listen over and over... whether that be new stuff, old stuff, or whatever.

Try deleting the midi mapping for the automation you've already recorded before overdubbing. That might stop Ableton thinking you want to overwrite the automation you've just recorded. Alternatively, set up a new channel and route it to the channel with Massive on it and record the next bit of ...

Yeah. I ran into the same problem. If you download individual tracks (rather than a bunch in a zip file) you can rename them before they save - but it's far from ideal.

On the plus side, though, WAVs are a quite a bit cheaper than at Beatport, so I guess we shouldn't get too down on the site.
