Re: Untold @ Bestival 2010

Lol @ the fucking Lets Go Crazy resident DJ's on before him, wtf was that about. They were appalling. They did help me make friends in the middle of the bollywood tent screaming for them to fuck off. At what point did they think it was a good idea to play jump up at three in the afternoon on the fi...

Re: Bestival?

Plastikman, Fever Ray, Fat freddys drop, Mount Kimbie, chic and Untold where all incredibly affecting sets for me. Amazing combination of music and visuals. I'm surprised by how many of you thought the Joy Orb, Fly Lo and Ramadanman where awesome. the sound in the middle of the big top for fly lo an...

Re: strange little dubby techno through to dubstep mix

Outstanding, I'm on my second listen. Real care and attention paid to creating a mood and building on it. Mixes this good never get old. http://soundcloud.com/ghandi/masala-mix-refix-bhangra-qawwali-dub-desi-reggae-dubstep Awesome, thanks man, that's made my day! Listening to yours now; the madlib ...

strange little dubby techno through to dubstep mix

I'm trying to get back into mixing but with no nights to play at I find I start mixing, try a few rediculous mixes, get bored and go back to sky sports news. I've always had a good response from this forum despite not being a strictly dubstep fan so thought I'd get into the habit of recording mixes ...

Really interesting thread, I wonder if it's all a matter of perspective. i.e. if you're a DJ the priority is the mix and if you're a producer the priority is the production. It seems to me that neither DJ's nor producers can best answer this question. It's those people who are simply fans of the mus...

I've got a similar question which i need help with... Currently have 2x 1210's 2xcdj400's and allen & Heath Xone 32 mixer. (it's a great setup!!) Can I just use the Traktor software and use the cdj400's as midi controls? I suppose when I play live it would depend on the club having cdj400's or l...

Nothing better than a good MC Nothing worse than a bad one The ratio between the two is depressing tho ... :? Thats real talk right there. Only DnB mc's i like hearing on a set are Fats, GQ, Dynamite, 2Shy & SP. Dynamites a good call, can over do it but generally adds something to a tune rather...

SP:MC is the only one i look for on a flyer (or used to at any rate) He used to leave plenty of space for drops and hyped the crowd at choice moments, adding to the flow, not trying for all the attention. I think he's producing a bit of dubstep these days, I heard something of his on electronic expl...

At the minute i only mix vinyl, i'd like to buy some CDJs at some point, maybe only one, but funds are low and they are quite expensive. Does any one know if its worth buying cheaper CDJs or are they a waste of time? I've only ever played on CDJ 1000s and i really liked them, but at nearly £750ish ...
