It seems like most of dubstep I come across is way too formulaic (unimaginative melodies and hard hitting wobble basslines... bass therapy with plenty of low frequency, but little creativity). I guess what I'm asking is, is there any dubstep you listen to that breaks this mold? "Glyphic" from ...

I'm not much for samples, so any advice on any good FM synths for drums?

I'm using Ableton as my DAW and haven't been satisfied with any of the sounds on that (at least with Impulse, haven't really gave the samples on there much consideration). Anything helps, thanks again.
