just to let you know, i'm currently using my dell inspiron 1720 that cost me about £400 last year, has dual-core 3GB ram, 160GB HD and a 17" screen. i've got logic studio, live 8 and reason 4 all running perfectly, all my drivers are in place etc.

google "hackintosh". basically you can install a copy of OSX from your favourite torrent tracker, on to your intel based computer. so id advise you get a great setup, loads of ram etc, then hackintosh it to the max

piano is the best instrument for learning about chord structures, scales, melodies etc.

it's much easier than a guitar for the simple reason that every note is laid out in front of you. with a guitar, there is the problem of different tunings etc.

also, if you learn piano, you learn to read music ...

i suggest you turn down the fm8 volume. sounds like the track is clipping.

otherwise it could be your speakers being shitty.

i have no experience in it personally.. but i would say almost definitely you're best bet is use Native Instruments' Guitar Rig 3, and add a good bit of delay to taste..

also, ska guitar chords are usually on the off beat - so keep that in mind

so anyway i've been working on it a little more.. i've posted the new version of the song on myspace.

while the structure is almost exactly the same, i've varied the drums a bit, added a percussive melody and fixed the frequency distortion on the bass drop.

lol i'm using FL 8 to arrange it, and using some home-made MASSIVE patches for bass, sub-bass etc. The piano thingy is an FM8 preset that's been tweaked a bit, and it's called Airpad.

The drums were just the ones that come in FL8 under the Dance pack.. I EQd and reverbed them all up..
