Re: INSTRA:MENTAL BEST BREAKTHROUGH PRODUCER-BEST OF BRITISH

As far as i know instra:mental is two guys who are both from london and used to make drum and bass.

they are defo onto something huge, and if you have not already check em out.

Also their autonomic podcasts http://www.club-autonomic.com/ are well worth a listen.

Dj Software.

Hi DSF,

Does anyboady know of any software that you can still have a decent mix on that does not require timecode?

Its Funny I was Telling a mate of mind how this could be done a while back. When I saw the post title I thought 'no way!' But I like the way that you left out the vocal until the end and used the end of the song as the breakdown, good arrangement. So could you send me a 320 of 'where is your bootleg?'

To be honest Chocolate Funk is not really my thing, It has soul though. But Planet Dub is a good solid tune. I like the phase (and subtle distortion?) on the hats. also the little stab at the end of the bar, that keeps things rollin along nicely. Bit cheeky But, Any chance of a 320 of Drift, Diving ...

one way to achive this kind of effect is to,

use the nn19

pencil in loads of 1/64 notes in the piano roll

automate the sample start on the nn19, so that each note triggers further into the sample

not sure if thats what is going on in the youtube video, but its somewhere
near!

I think that you would be mad to not invest that amount of money,

you have to ask yourself if you really need all that high end shit to make a tune that you love.

because I know for sure that you do not!

it would seem from what i have read on the internet that he makes his drums using soundforge, multi-tracking audio files over each other. this is what gives his tracks that swing the fact there is no quantize on there, and he is very selective with what sounds he chooses. if you want to try and make...
