Bristol Peeps - anyone going to Black Box at T2, 6th April?

Easy,

Is anyone going to this? J Kenzo and Seven are too good, as is Thinking (big up GetDarker for hosting the Black Box takeover the other night, it was a massive night) and Lurka for that matter. Seven's album is going to be big I reckon. Can't wait!!!

Re: Your views on buying tracks please...

...yeah I know, but I also wanted to get an up to date viewpoint on things as so much change is occuring, and with things like Distance saying he uses CD's playing out now cos most clubs have whack sets of technics I just wondered what other people thought. :6:

Your views on buying tracks please...

With the tragic loss of so many record shops I’ve been pondering about the way things are going regarding buying music. So I was wondering what you all think about buying tunes nowadays. Also, if you could see one thing in an online music shop what would this feature be? Examples might include cheap...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for DECEMBER, 2010

kidstrange - I did the same as Grime Syndicate! Watch It Go Remake has a good mixdown on it, with everything sitting pretty nicely in it. The intro is really nice, although I reckon the lead in on the lfo-rise from 0.40 needs more work. I've gotta say that I'm not so keen on the lead synths you've ...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for DECEMBER, 2010

brettheaslewood, (far-east-movement remix): I know this is a remix, so I'm not sure what's going to be possible to sort out (depending on whether you have all the stems complete with synths etc, or whether you just have audio stems), but here goes! I really like the drum pattern, although I reckon ...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for DECEMBER, 2010

ibscotty: I thought the sparse feel of the track and the sounds you've used are really good! In terms of constructive criticism I reckon the drum's could be a little more varied and the kick sounds a little too prominent and muddy (less reverb on the kick/more of a low cut on the eq should sort that...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for DECEMBER, 2010

@ sprayyypaint: thanks for the feedback...although I know what you're saying about the reverb on the vocal I kinda like the 'upclose and personal' feel the vocal has without the reverb...but maybe that's me?? in terms of your track, i like the feel...even though there seems to be some melody clashes...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for DECEMBER, 2010

MTA 7388 – Bliff The pads and the double bass sound is muddy and sounding muted, maybe try using a better quality synth / sample or take some distortion off (if you're using any). I like the reverb on the drums but wonder if there's a little too much? You've got a nice melody going on but i think t...

Attention UK laptop users...

I'm only passing this info on in case it is useful to anyone, and I have in no way checked out the validity of it, but... According to an electrician that was doing a load of safety tests on laptops at work, the main reason so many laptop batteries die before their time is because the laptop power s...

Macc, seriously, the first couple and last few pages of this are literally so amazing I can't thank you enough... I'm glad to say that I have already been doing some of the things you advise, but what you were saying about keeping the perceived level the same the whole way through the chain etc. has...

Re: Dolphin music - Want that equipment but can't quite afford i

I'd be paying about the same a month as I would for a fairly cheap night out having a few beers. I think I can sacrifice a night out a month in order to buy something a little fruity for the studio. Hey so why don't u skip a night out drinking beers every month, and save up for this, rather than ha...

Re: Dolphin music - Want that equipment but can't quite afford i

I don't want to get involved in the whole economics debate going on...what I will say (in case it is useful info for anyone else) is that I gave both Digital Village and Dolphin Music a call and Dolphin definitely won in the helpfulness and explanation stakes. Personally if I do use this offer I'll ...

Thanks for the info on this...it's definitely got me interested. You mention there are criteria for eligibility, is there a link to the criteria for eligibility other than the 'questions' part of the take it away website?
