hats can be the hardest thing to get to grips with; personally I have most success playing them out rather than using groove/swing templates or settings....each to their own. It helps being a drummer, but even then, 95% of stuff I play out, I delete.

instead of automating the massive LFO...try bouncing it without any wub...throw it in a Sampler, chuck a filter on it and link that to an LFO all within sampler. Just another way of doing things but might give u more options when it comes to using LFO's and automation generally.

bought a macbook pro a couple of weeks ago too... and I'm using AVAST (which is free)
