My friend had a similar problem I think with the same speakers, about a month or after he bought them. He took the faulty one back to Digi Village in Clapham and they repaired it free of charge. It took ages to get mended though.

How much would I be looking at for a decent mac with logic and all the trimmings? Around £800? Would you guys suggest I went for a laptop or desktop mac? I usually leave my PC on all night downloading/uploading or just generally sitting there eating up power! Is this possible with a mac laptop ...

but if mundayschild has a "cheap midi controller" this will have midi in and outs in adition to usb, so i wouldve thought the hardware can be daisychained behind this. thats how i run midi stuff ...

I was using the Axiom 25 up until recently when it died. The screen on the front kept dying then it was failing to be recognized by my computer before it finally stopped working.
Will probably get the same again or move up to the 49, though the Behringer UMA 25 looks pretty cool...

A keyboard can be very handy, though not always essential if you can be bothered to input things in the piano roll. Generally the keyboard seems to be the easier and quicker method.
