Re: DSF SAMPLE PACK COMPETITION-21

Lots of good stuff in this pack - some really cool tones. Now I just want to leave work and get to work on it.

Re: DSF SAMPLE PACK COMPETITION-20

haha, or some really rich dude with low self esteems buys his own track a hundred times.

i do think it might be reasonable to re-post an announcement of competition entries into the general forum. it might diversify the voting pool - if a voting system is to be utilized again.

Re: DSF SAMPLE PACK COMPETITION-20

Haha - Just remembered that the "It Began In Africa..." sample is the main line from a Chemical Brothers song.

Mastering Recommendations

Hello,

Anybody have recommendations for an entry level Mastering Studio? Preferably one that offers per-track rates. If I can get a number of responses, I'll be happy to organize into a more accessible list.

Thanks,

J

Re: First Tune:::Astral - Cinnamon Buns:::

Big first effort! The tones are clean and everything is articulate - tonal structure / mixing won't be a problem for you. I know I'm in the minority for saying this, so everyone can laugh me out of the room if they want, but i think the mid-rangey thrash wobble sounds that define the majority of dub...

Re: [NYC] 1/15 DUB WAR w/ Instra:mental + Vaccine

Hey Seckle, Thanks dude. I was probably harsher than necessary. I certainly don't want to be a crusty griper. People have to make a buck and and huge awesome speakers cost the big dollars. I guess my only point is that having Love (at least on the night of Dubwar)turn into Pascha, doesn't sound so g...

Re: Floating Points

Definitely one of the best, plus its awesome to hear producers breaking the tempo template. he goes from 90 to 115 or so, patching the threshold between wonked hip hop and house. But he frequently DJs dubstep. he'll be spinning in NYC in a couple of weeks! Not sure if anyone mentioned the For You/Ra...

Re: Ableton dj - How to change tempo?

I like having a few ambient tracks, full of building noise (Tim Hecker, Sunn ((0)), or even some of the less beat driven Burial), and I just don't warp them. Fade into them, and then you can adjust the temp to whatever you need, and come in blazing. Also, you could craft a "utility track" ...

Security/Door problems or comments are really important to us, and your input is really helpful. If anyone's got other examples from last night of strange door/security treatment, please let us know. I've been going to Dubwar for almost three years now. I always have great time, no matter my partic...

I like the voice-sounding snare on Sneakers a lot - I wish you would cut loose with it and let it get a little crazy. You could tweak the pitch around or stack the sample up in loose way so it jitters? Just ideas though, I like the tune as is too.

Thanks for the tracks!
