I'd say get some HS-50's for £230, you can't go wrong with them IMO or even the HS-80's for £400. Then you've got money left over for a MIDI keyboard.

Hit the tab key in live to bring up the arrangement view, it's pretty much similar to how cubase or logic is. Get some drum/snare/percussion samples, theres plenty around on here and then make your beats out the one hit samples.

Thats how I make my drums but there are plenty of people who also use ...

I smoke around a 8th everyday and it has had a big effect on my effort to produce, i just get very lazy when blazing up. Been producing today sober and it's been a alright session. Think I'm going to stop soon so I can start getting more shit done in the studio.

You can pick you self up a 1.83/2GHz White MB off ebay for around £500 if you look around, they're rock solid machines and should do most of what you want aslong as you upgrade to 4GB of ram if you can't find one with 4GB already installed.

Check out Mixvibes, you should be able to use your MOTU Ultralite with that. Where as with Traktor and Serato you need their own boxes such as the Audio 4 or 8, or the SL1 or SL3.

The SL3 is a lot more expensive than the NI DJ4 and only had one extra channel, I have the NI Audio DJ 8 my self and it sound great. Both the DJ 4 and 8 are the same thing but the Audio 8 has more channels meaning ...

They both work the same, its just SL3 has an extra channel and sounds a lot better than the SL1. Other than that they're both the same thing .

Yeh I would not go spending a shit load of cash straight away. I've slowly built my setup up, from decks and a mixer when I first started DJing to decent studio monitors the next year and I now have a very good soundcard which I also use for Traktor scratch for when I DJ but I just swap it between ...

You can get Traktor Scratch Duo now which has the Audio 4 soundcard which is just 4 ins and outs instead 8 ins and outs on the audio 8.
You can still plug in two Turntables or CDJ's where as with the Audio 8 you could plug it up to 4 decks at once.

Traktor Scratch Duo is probably the best value ...
