Re: Burial on Top Gear

Ive only heard Burials first album and pre-release mixes of his second. his use of house vocal samples leaves me cold. but i respect.

Hmm... most of the vocal samples on the second album are snipped from American R&B tracks. Ray-Jay, Beyonce both on Archangel, for instance. Christina Aguilera ...

I still don't understand why people use this stupid name WONKY for hip hop.

http://i43.tinypic.com/2hfpa82.gif to differentiate it from normal top 40 hiphop and we all know what he means? If he just said hiphop I would point him in a completely different direction... gotcha

but still,

somehow I ...

The Rhythmic Mode, where you can essentially program your own repeats and the Swing/Groove feature are both sooo bad!

You can do the same on the filter LFO. So sick!

I have the Soundtoys bundle and absolutely love them. They are the cream of the crop.

I don't see $500 as being expensive for the ultimate delay plugin, the ultimate filter plugin, a granular effect box, and the lushest filter/trems I've ever heard in a plugin. Especially when the alternatives ...

You must have it routed wrong. To make sure download the "zeno patches" from access and open up zeno wobble and if lfo 2 isn't able to sync then you have a very weird situation going on. I would then contact Ableton or check the Ableton forum. I promise it works. Wait...are you running xp? I can't ...

Should be an lfo 1 to 3 clock parameter in the automation, i use logic so not sure what the deal with cubase is but it should be there.

170??? :?

Most hip-hop goes from as low as 80 up to 110. Of course, the new techno/hip-hop mashup feel (like Glitch Mob and such) can/does go higher.

The only way I can imagine getting 170 in hip-hop is counting an 85 bpm beat half-time. Most hip-hop isn't half-time.
