ableton: more than 2 sends per channel in session view

I am trying to work out a set.
I've got a fairly simple midi controller pad (Akai LPD8) and I have put 8 parts of a song into various clips on the same channel strip in the session view - my controller has 8 pads and 8 knobs and I want to have 8 (or at least more than just A & B) sends to send the ...

sweep/pad EQ effect (use auto filter?)

(note: I am using live 8)
I'm making an edit of a old soul/disco tune, mashing it up a bit (it's too short for dancefloor) and the original has a really nice long strings sweep/pad sound just before the beat comes in - I wanted to spice it up a bit so I have put some FX on it: Auto Pan > Auto Filter ...

see I am using ableton to make a mixtape. I am using the arrangmenet view and just dumping tracks down and cutting them up. its all non-digital music which means no warping, no snap-to-time and no overall track tempo.

so for this example I have two tracks (of a very similar bpm) and I have cut the ...

ableton: loop a sample+slowly increase its tempo over time

hey I am pretty much a noob at this so bear with me

I have an (analog) tune that ends with a bar or two of just the beat, I have looped that beat grand to give me a cushion to mix something in with it, but I need to bring it up to the tempo I need. I have tried increasing the temp of each repeated ...

why do you need to upsample?
What sample rate do the various DAWs use? I just thought they might have to upsample it (and perhaps do it badly) when importing it into FL or Reason etc.

itunes at 44kz wav?

I'm ripping a ton of borrowed CDs and I want to make sure I do it right the first time. I reckon itunes is a good choice since it does the tracknames etc. better than the other rippers I've tried.

I presume there is no difference between different rippers quality when it comes to 44khz 16bit wav ...

glossary? wtf are you guys talking about :)

you guys use a lot of lingo!
I keep coming across words/phrases i don't quite know what mean:

bounce down - downsample? export?
refills - sample cd or what?

there are more, is there a glossary for all this or am I just gonna haveta slow up all the threads with tedious 'what does x mean' :)
