Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010

http://soundcloud.com/janaj/dubstep-1 My first dubstep track Piano sounds good at the beginning. I am not a big fan of that wobbly massive bass sound as it's a bit overused. Arrangement is nice and spatious and I like the drum programming, but I would vary the timbre of the clap/snare for some vari...

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010

A new one with a mix of digital and analog synths, outboard processing, mixed ITB. It's 90bpm with dub step, IDM, and glitch influences, intricately programmed and automated synth lines, growling bass, and tweaky, glitched up arrangement. -t- Let me know what you think.... http://soundcloud.com/circ...

thanks thanks, I can't really give feedback technical wise as I'm not all into that stuff haha i'd say pierced horizons sounds nice but it just seems too empty, some atmospheric sounds, pads, or fx here n there would be nice, not sure if it's finished or what stereo is much better when I loaded you...

new 1 just put out Aftee - Sound Killer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdPMeJ6pIL4&fmt=18 Hey Aftee. I listened to Sound Killer. The vocals seems a bit out of tune with the instrumental at the beginning. The bass is nice and big and the drums sound nice as well. I think some sidechaining and au...

www.myspace.com/kitesglitch I also like this track. The pads and verby space is nice. I also like the didgeridoo type bass (thats my interpretation). However, I am not a big fan of the vocals. But I generally don't like vocals at all in electronic music, so I am biased. The effects on the voice are...

Sorry about that. I am new to this forum.
Can a moderator delete this thread, or is there a way for me to.

Many apologies.

Circus of Mind open for Critique

Hello Dub Steppers. I am looking for some feedback on a couple of tracks. Dub step is not my primary genre, but I have recently been enjoying making tracks with the 140/70-ish beat structure. There is something about the space which is so much fun to write within. Anyway, I was looking for some feed...

Good monitors are to have a flat response so you can understand the details in the entire frequency spectrum. They are not meant to sound "good" in a hifi way as you are mixing but more to sound accurate. Hifi speakers emphasize the highs and lows with a sort of smiley eq. The reason you r...

Its true, the Camel Audio stuff is not clean and it has a certain sound to it that is very distinguishable. But it works for some things, especially if you want a sort of distortion to it. I am also on logic and really like their plugs. I also often use a moogerfooger hpf and sherman filterbank for ...

For straight up LPF BPF HPF I use Sonalksis TBK1.
For more complicated multieffects + filters, I use PSP nitro a lot. Also, CamelPhat is a good channel strip / filter. CamelSpace is also a great multifilter/effects unit.

Hope this helps.

IMHO the most important aspects of a studio to be addressed first are the monitoring chain. Get a great pair of monitors and a top of the line AD/DA. Room treatment is especially important or the money dropped on monitoring will be useless. You have to hear your material as clearly as possible or yo...

It is dangerous to follow statements like "always hp kick at 80hz". It all really depends on the song, the key of the kick's fundamental, the key of the bassline, etc. It is usually good to hp a kick at least around 20-30hz because we really can't hear that low rumble and it may eat up a l...
