Even if it is a free trial and then you cancel, you can't do anything with the files after the trial runs out can you? Because of napsters encoding on audio?

Any1 seen the new napster? Its free at the minute for the first 7 days so you can just grab a load of tunes n cancel. Its well sweet sayin its free man they got all the latest stuff labels etc should check it out. You have to give your card or paypal etc, but as long as you cancel within the first 7 ...
