Re: Calling all artists

Well, if you're not just taking the piss, send me a link to something I can listen to. 2000 artists signed on as of now, mostly mainstream. I produce dubstep, have released some tracks, and I'm trying to get some underground talent involved. Anyone thats interested, message me with some links and I ...

Calling all artists

I am an artist relations liaison for a North American music distribution website looking to launch acts to the next level. The site has some very revolutionary ideas on ways to increase sales, facilitate touring, and give invaluable exposure to artists. There are many major label acts already signed ...

Re: Doubling synths

Wow! Great tips guys, thank you. And not one person ripping on my for the question, which I'd kind of expected. I'll try these techniques and see what works, again, thank you all very much for the input.

Re: Doubling synths

Yeah, generally I would layer a bunch of different synths as well. Think this is likely a case of too many 12 hour shifts in a row and seriously over worked ears listening to the same song for far to long. Thanks for the responses.

Re: Doubling synths

That makes sense to me, and may be the case, but when I raised the volume on one and muted the other it didn't sound the same. Maybe my ears were playing tricks, I had been sitting with headphones on for a long time at that point.

Re: Doubling synths

Just realized how many times I said track and think it confused the point a bit. I was working on a song and I duplicated the synth track in it.

Re: Vocal samples????

Or you could plug in a mic and make the sounds yourself. I've done this on a few tracks and it came out nicely. Rusko talked about doing this in his producers masterclass video as well.

Doubling synths

I'm working on a track and I was having trouble getting the main synth to hit as hard as I wanted. I duplicated the track thinking I would change it up on one track and add more layers, but it sounded good just like that. My gut is telling me that this may be a production no no, mixing is an area I ...

Intent - Jungle Dub

Working title, generic I know. Thinking on ways to change the tune up and keep it interesting. Feedback appreciated.

Re: How do you pass files on collabs?

There is a collect all and save option in ableton that will self contain all parts into the songs folder. If your friend has all the samples and vst's, he should be able to open the song from within the self contained folder you sent with everything where it should be.

Re: Originality

I think the first step is dropping all Subgenres. They tend to lock you into a way of thinking about how it should sound. One of the things I love most about Dubstep is the lack of defining rules. As long as youre in the 140 range so it can be mixed, you can do pretty much whatever you want. My ...
