Re: SUB:STANCE @ Berghain... 09/04/10 Skream/Scuba-live/Untold++
Feeling spontaneous - flights booked :o Love Scuba's stuff and want to experience it on a massive system somewhere miles from home, plus the rest of the line-up is incredible. Fingers crossed I get in, better figure out a plan b. Will be on my own, speak a bit of German and will keep quiet and sober...

Well up for travelling over from London for this but like others kinda worried about going to all that effort/expense only to be rejected on the door, either because of the door policy or because of capacity. Never been to Berghain before, thinking about flying over Fri coming back Sun. Whaddya reck...

Sorry to be negative but I lost interest when I heard the bassline personally - too generic for me I'm afraid, sounds like the Massive Brutal Electro preset that's been rinsed to death. I like to hear more originality myself. But you seem to have the production skills, I'd just like to hear them wor...

Heh :) Know where you're coming from but after all this is a 'Production' sub-forum, so I think it's fair enough to pick apart other people's production techniques here. Might come across as snobby but personally I think it's healthy for the music scene if producers take pride in innovation and frow...

Actually to be fair that Rusko track might be Albino 3, not Massive. He gets a similar sound out of it in this tutorial vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eLFb6CecXA

For anyone still curious, you can hear the sound in the preset player top right of this page: http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=massive (it's number 27). And a few more examples most will already be familiar with: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPzuI2qViZg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

I know I'm late to the party on this one, but one year on and producers are still rinsing the Brutal Electro preset more than ever. This is getting truly ridiculous now. Just taken a listen to the Top 10 dubstep tracks on Beatport - at least 5 of them use it with barely a tweak, and mostly on every ...
