so whats the deal with this? is jay a dubplate-cutter? its been some time since this thread was active, whats the status of stateside dubs, worth it? hell yah its worth it. dubs been getting cut in the USA since Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley.

The theory behind half-speed and the reason for doing it is that you cut the high frequencies and speed in half which theoretically allows more "resolution" in the groove at the high end. It also reduces the power required from the recording amplifier.

Cutting a disk at 45 RPM instead of 33 helps ...
