I've just got a chip on my shoulder... I've been using sampled outdoor sounds and vinyl crackles since I first got a sampler in 96. now I can't make anything dirty (even w/o the 2 step drums) without it being "burial's aesthetic".

lol yeah I feel you. I've done the same for a long time (though ...

off hand. sounds like what you'd want to do is quite doable as that's what I used to use mine for. the best part...the filters are BIG, it can instantly drop into 50% speed for tempo and speed change breakdown.

I still use it for the effects from time to time or if I want to actually ride faders ...

I've got one. used to gig with it during the dnb days many moons ago.

just a heads up the drive on them's a little slow for one shot drum samples but if you use long samples or you're bringing parts in and out on the fly with the faders/effects they work well live.

whatcha wanna know?

and yeah, rusko clones r just as wak. but i think the main reason why burial copyists get jumped on so hard is cos its burial really has a strong personal identity, his sound is (or was) so unlike anything else out there that its just too obvious when ppl r biting

nail on the head.

I've just ...

sorry peepzes. dis nubie gawn rant!!!

It's funny how this double standard works. the 900 billion rusko clones are fine, but start sounding like burial and you're a copycat.

oh, and we're all copycats that's what a genre is. It started with one person originally.

there are ways to take the sound ...

used to do this on logic 5 cos the computer couldn't play the tracks all the way through otherwise!

Just posted a new one on my Soundcloud, it's called "Cold". Structure is finished, haven't mixed it too much yet. I'm still not 100% sold on the kick yet... please listen and review, thanks!

nice one. all the elements (structurally) fit nicely together.

I would say the kicks fine, but I'm ...
