Re: Old grime snare?
Figured I'd tack this similar question on here... What's that clap that all the grime tracks use? I've heard it in Dizzee and Wiley stuff, as well as elsewhere. Maybe this is commonly known or something but I am ignorant. Thanks They use a 909 clap and also standard claps in FL. U want something wi...

The main synth part. Reminds me of the synth on the first song on the YYYs Fever to Tell.
Distortion? How do they get it to sound so "hollow(?)"?

Re: Repitching/mangling vocals
I was thinking more artificial, futuristic, kinda autotune sounds. I need to get a hold of Melodyne it looks amazing.

Re: Repitching/mangling vocals
What you can do in ableton without splicing is use warp markers and the re-pitch option. Just be warned, its incredibly sensitive. I am using Ableton, so would you care to explain this a little bit more? Sounds tricky from what I understand, because you don't get direct control over the pitch of ea...

Repitching/mangling vocals
This may already have been asked, and if so, just re-route me to the original answer. I am wondering what software people generally use to manipulate vocal/any audio file and change the pitch, like "re-writing" the melody. I don't know if that is exactly the same thing as auto tune, but I ...

Re: How do you map your midi controller
I know, I was just looking for ideas. I have seen people route some of the endless knobs to things like cutoff/inverse resolution and bit crushers, but I am wondering if anyone has any particularly clever or useful shortcuts they use. Especially, how do you segue between songs? Do you sit there, ope...

How do you map your midi controller
I have an mpd26 and I have been trying to figure out how to use it to its full potential. So far I have been just using the pads for playing drums and the sliders for the mixer, but that's pretty obvious. How do you guys map your controllers? I'm specifically interested I'm ableton because that is w...

Re: Dubby guitar echoey technique
Let's explain this technique and pretend that I have no knowledge of buses, sends or returns or any of that. For Ableton please.
I get the concept, just not the exact application.

Problem with workflow
I have finally started making music (successfully) on my setup, finishing songs and everything, but I have run into a problem. My setup is like this. Macbook, with MPD26, Korg R3 running into an Audiobox (midi and audio) and then the monitors run out through that as well. Just in case that helps. Oh...

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
I've been searching my manual for this but can't figure it out. I have a little acoustic bass bit that I want to use in sampler, and it has this really good sustain. But when I play it on the higher notes it gets a lot shorter. I know that this is just part of the relationship between pitch and len...

Hijack here, who can recommend a good free reverb vsti? I'm using the TAL one but good reverb is always appreciated.
