Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010
@LordBid: i like the aesthetic and mixing on the drums. But something about the drop doesn't quite do it for me. I mean, it certainly has the requisite weight, but I guess there's too much of an edge that isn't evolving continuously but discretely. Though, I suppose that is a matter of taste. @Bass ...

Re: DSF SAMPLE PACK COMPETITION-27
Some great entries there, and it was tough for me but Imperial Crown grabbed me because of the chords and the general vibe -- deep and uplifting. It's just been stuck in my head the past few days, which I take as a good sign.

Re: Music Theory question
first, rhythms are really, really important, especially in dubstep. then, you want to pay attention to how your intervals sound, vertically and horizontally. chords are made out of stacked intervals, you know!

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for JULY, 2010
@Airiabam, that was the best piece of feedback anyone has ever given me thank you, :) Really know whaat you mean about the static tembre, it's just I've tried a few effects like phasing and ring mod but becasue it's quite a thin sound in very specific band of frequencies it sounds kinda shit,...

Interesting intro, it potentially suggests a lot. Wondering where the build will take it as it progresses.

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for JULY, 2010
@airabam nice sound but you might need to high pass some of the sounds as they are interfereing with the low end too much and just sounds like slutter. Cool ideas though interesting use of sounds, but a little too repetitive, needs to evolve and not stay trapped in this crazy level of the game! Can...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for JULY, 2010
@hakka i love that intro, with the vocals it sounds very relaxing. i think the main lead could do with a little more on the low end, it sounds a bit too 'tinny' if you get me.. the sub is fine, just a little more on the low end. other than that, sick track @mashmash loving this one, i love grime an...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for JULY, 2010
Started woking on this track and have ended up with something at 140 bpm, but with a much bouncier feel to it - would probs work as a transition track in a set from dubstep to something more uptempo - maybe a proper DJ might agree? Comments for comments :) (abrupt ending is becaus I'm not sure wher...

Re: Scanned Synth Pro No-Brainer - Pay what you want.
Hi guys. Just thought I'd point out that there is a really good VSTi synth out there for DnB, Dubstep, Grime and IDM sounds that's going for DIRT CHEAP. It originally sold for $99 USD, but now it's "Pay Whatever You Want." (Donationware). Check it out here: http://www.humanoidsounds.co.uk...

Re: tips for my bassline
What I like to do is make the raw bass sound as fat as I can before adding any movement to it : 1 - choose waveforms that complement each other and make the whole patch sound as nasty as you can. 2 - use whatever options your synth has to add some harshness. In Massive, the phase modulation osc can...

ZIQ272LP - Ital Tek - Midnight Colour
I find this album jaw-dropping. Along with Starkey's new album (Ear Drums and Black Holes), I have been in heaven; this is the production territory I want to start moving in. Smooth, heavy, grimy but clean, grooves hard, so cosmic, so melodic, so harmonic, and uplifting. I can't get enough of it; wh...

Re: ima be like skream now
i've found creative limitations to be good, if i can't switch it up and i want to keep on pushing at one angle or focus, then the solution is to simplify...i only have a finite amount of not just skill but attention before i get fatigued working at something in a session, and i've found that attenti...

Thanks heaps bro ! Means a lot !! Will maybe do a re-edit of the second drop on 1000 Blisters - maybe bring that bit you liked back in :) ? As for Woodblock - I'll take that as a compliment, haha, because I've never heard that track but I understand what you mean! Thanks man - do you have any tunes...
