Re: Underexposed movie recomendations

These are some off the top of my head which are just 'good' films, I wouldn't say they're classics but they're well worth a watch and are lesser known, although still quite mainstream:

The Disappearance of Alice Creed - A UK film based on a kidnap/hostage scenario which goes wrong. There's 3 people ...

Great avatar - Gummo is mental!
It's funny because tonight is the first time I've been on here in a while and I just re-read my original post which is nearing 3 years old. I'm actually quite happy in how I came across back then; I thought it would be more cringe worthy!

Re: Derek (TV show)

I think it's sad how poor Gervais has became in recent times. The Office was 10/10, Extras 9/10, Lifes Too short 7/10 and Derek, 5/10.

I get his angle, but it's just poorly done and his rinsing of the mockumentary is no longer ground breaking. I appreciate him for the quality he's given, plus Idiot ...

Re: David Beckham & French tax

Their tax system is way too high and will harm the country in due course.

Say what you want about Becks, there's not many people giving charity £3 million over 5 months.

Re: Sandy Hook Conspiracy

When studying the media (yes, that really is a pathetic module I acknowledge), one thing I learned was how at the time of tragic events, the media will report almost anything with an inch of truth in order to stay relevant. I.e. The source has to be validated quickly under lots of pressure/time ...

Re: The things that pissed you off today ™ thread

Today I saw someone write on my friends wall on facebook. Without sounding bitter, I realised this person had deleted me as a friend on facebook. I really don't care BUT - why add people then months later delete them?
This has happened to me a few times, so maybe I'm the problem?! Then again I ...

Re: A big night out with Britain's biggest #LADS

I don't really trust this article...Vice is known to be a bit hipster-esque, and as clever as the reporter seemed among these "lads", he also seemed to be a bit of a "I'm from London, I'm geeky" type of guy, as seen by his mentioning of his hometown a few times and his dress sense.

The reality is ...

Re: Use of Crackle in Music

Reminds me of a rap beat I made ages ago, I added in a crackle sound to the intro to make it sound 'fuller'. I think it has a nostalgic quality to it, and people love nostalgia.

Can't believe some of the fanboys in this thread. Shock-horror "Hiphop samples popular song from eslewhere", it happens all the time. Granted, it's not as good as the original but this sort of thing is standard, he didn't truly butcher it either...

Re: IS the new Darren Brown stuff ballshit?

Derren Brown became what he despised, and illusionist.

Years back he was great and showed it how it was; he proved that psychology was heavily involved with 'magic' and although he wasn't doing 'magic', his mindtricks were equally as entertaining.

I haven't seen this but I remember growing tired ...

Put me down lads, I've only just seen this but I haven't fapped since October 31st and may as well give it ago.

I tried something like this last year and lasted a week, it really does get very mentally challenging I shit you not. You also get lots of people claiming how it changes their lifestyle ...

Re: Anyone started their own blogs as a form of promotion?

It really depends on how you use it/how much effort you do I suppose. The reality is for most people some cheap/basic PR would probably be more effective and time saving if you're very unknown. It would take hours of work/effort for it to get exposure, in which time you could have done more ...

Re: Disney buys Lucasfilm (and the rights to make new Star W

Is there actually a story line which has been done for this? I mean, did Lucas have a sequel to episode 6 as I heard he did, but changed it to complete the trilogy.

Re: Dubstep in Academia?

Doubt there's much writing on the subject if honest, seeing as the entire genre is fairly new in musical terms, I assume the more it matures, the more content/incentive on writing about it will emerge...until then.
