Re: 133 bpm for dubstep?
Since when was there a best tempo to make people dance? I'm currently making a half-time 128bpm track. Is it dubstep? No probably not. Do I care if it's danceable? Nope. Do I like it and does it sound good to me? Yep, and that's all I think about when making stuff, seriously if you're trying to coo...

Re: 133 bpm for dubstep?
The best BPM for having people in average shape to dance all night is 127. 133 is slightly too fast, but should work with a lot of people in their early 20's. You gotta realize that people dance to the beat, though, and dubstep beat is half-time, essentially bringing the rate of dancing closer to 70...

Re: church or tubular bell VST?
Chromaphone is a physical modelling synth that creates really nice sounding mallets/bells. Definitely worth a look. Combine with a quality reverb for best results.

Enjoy losing your high frequencies.Egan wrote:The volume on my computer is on max,
Seriously people, mix low. We all know everything sounds better louder. You're just fooling yourself about the quality of your mixdown by listening too loud.

Re: Any advice on making this old school/ambiant pad?
On the Skream - Smokers one, definitely sounds like an electric piano sample with Lowpass filtering, tons of delay, and reeverb. Sub Basics - Oxy one sounds more synthetic. Not too many harmonics there either. Some tremolo. Sub Basics - King Blue s one sound like some sort of electronic organ with L...

Re: plugin issue (need help)
He means that they do not make sound. Synthesizers take input of MIDI data and put out Audio. Midi generator plugins either take an input of MIDI or no input at all, and put out MIDI data. You need to route the MIDI coming from them to an actual synthesizer.

Re: FXpansion Maul
As someone with access to both Maul, Ohmicide and Saturn, I would like to do some comparisons. Saturn : Pros : +Great for poppy/bright sounds. +Tape saturation is a great mixing tool for generating headroom. +Mid/Side processing can generate a lot of width. +Versatile modulation, to the point of cre...

Re: Using Massive as an effect plugin ?
One of the Massive developers One of the Nerve developers. ( This should've been obvious, considering that the link is to Xfer website, and Xfer puts out the Nerve drum machine. ) He aint one of the developers, he just copied the effect from massive :) Found the script in a Reaktor patch and re-cod...
