To be quite honest i am not sure myself but i think vs. means that one DJ plays a song then the DJ they are "competiting" against has to put on another song and get a better reaction out of the crowd.

Back to back i think they just play music together ha i don't know.

Hopefully someone with abit more knowledge can enlighten us!

if i have been billed with someone to do a "vs" set this will usually include some kind of pre-set psyche out with the other dj (staring from across room, spreading rumours about the dj around the club etc). I have also been known to resort to dirty tactics during the set whilst they're on the deck, such as swapping their coke for a diet coke or changing around the stickers on their vinyl.

if it's a b2b i usually ask the dj to hold my hand for the entire set and we hug afterwards.
