Notts heads!

Post by Littlefoot » Sun Feb 01, 2009 4:52 pm

we need your help.

Reprogression is a clubnight set up by me and my friend Drops which plays dubstep, garage and funky.

We had our first night on Thursday and although it was kinda empty for most of the night, was a really fun atmosphere

apparently it wasnt fun enough as landlord decieded to pull it.

GIVE US IDEAS FOR VENUES!

looking for somewhere student and normal non scary people friendly, where it either has a soundsystem, or one can be used.

thanks!

I'm a 3rd year at Nottingham Uni. Best places to try are market bar / bar eleven / stealth / blueprint if you wanna get Nottingham students there.

stealth, social, blueprint might be too large...

junktion 7 might be good, dunno what new management is like, but might be hard cos people think its just a punk/rock venue...

market bar, bar eleven, browns are all just a bit too shiny and swanky and have shit systems and might not let you put in more (i dont know this for sure)

dogma downstairs im really not a fan, some people like it. but yeah system was/still is? shit. just generally a bit crap... wigflex did some stuff there so maybe...?

i reckon you should look into moog. on alfreton road near canning circus, not that many students have heard of it BUT if you do good promo that shouldnt be a problem, and theres a few other nights that go on there (nooodle, cult...) so 'normal' notts heads will put some more people in there. it aint too lame and swanky in there, you can take the lightbulbs out to make it darker and stuff. and most importantly they will let you put more system in (im not sure if you could put a HUGE rig in but definatley more than the above mentioned). theres a small-ish one in-house to add too as well as decks+mixer etc... yeah you'll probs get it for free... we've never done anything there so i cant put you onto them but i reckon thats your best bet. there'll be a number on the inet or just pop in and chat, they seem pretty friendly.

joe mate, moog and muse would be ideal for you.......

we started at muse...
its easy to fill, the managers cool and the system aint awful (the only place in notts with a good in house system is stealth anyway)
The only downside is the bouncers a punk, i had to give him £40 to let me back into the first ever wigflex, too many toilet checks if u catch my drift

Moog is cool, no hassle off bouncers, cool owner who likes music, chilled setting but can still get sweaty if u wanna get grimsby....

big up

Shame to hear that plan B weren't feelin it... was a good vibe in there.

Moog could be cool, the owners are safe and they were talking to us about doing something there before (we haven't got the time though) so they'd prob be up for it. Chat to Steve, he's sound. The house system isn't very good but they let you bring in extra generally...

Used to enjoy Muse too when Wigflex put on nights there...

We miss gordos for this sort of thing :(
