Any suggestions on this?
I got a plate whose whole was cut too big and is kind of a bitch to cue.

Thanks man.

Old turntablist trick to stop your records jumping!
Hope that helps!

if you run across this while you are somewhere playing live, tear off a bit of foil from a cigarette pack, fold it and stick it through the record hole as you place it on the spindle. works a treat!

Take a 1/2 strip, cover the hole > poke thru the hole with a shart pen tip or something, thus filling the space permanently! Been doing it for 10 years and haven't seen a better method TBH

Bit off topic, but what about records which have a hole that's too small? I've encountered this a few times, any ideas?

Yes, in fact even quicker than patching it...
Be careful, although I have done this literally HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of times and never once messed up.
I use a pair of scissors, open them up as far as you can and stick the record hole on one of the scissor blades(while holding the other blade so as to not scratch the record if god forbid you spaz out). Then just lightly spin the record on it, thus boring it out. Its essentially using the scissor as the turntable nipple

yeah, don't be putting your records near a bloody tumble drier!|Nipsy| wrote:a few ov my records got melted and slightly warped by my tumbledryer ne cure 4 that?
two sheets of glass, warped record in between, sunny day - that'll unwarp your tune
i did that the other day, probably the 4th time i've ever bothered doing it, and put a nasty gash through the first 2 minutes of RSD - Tramplelukki wrote:Yes, in fact even quicker than patching it...

do NOT try to fix your records when you are blazed!

Using sellotape or masking tape for stickers is poor as they fall apart very soon. Hard to find records used to little sticker strips that you'd put through the spindle hole. Their lifespan is very long, and you dont need any scissors to cut them. A shop that specialises in turntablist equipment is bound to sell them.
For holes that are too small, roll up a tiny piece of sandpaper, and try very hard to keep the sand out of the grooves.
The question is, who is the fucking idiot that makes records with varying sizes of hole. Virtually all records are the wrong size.
