Yamaha HS80M Monitors
I've gone over all the monitors threads and loads of reviews, just wanted to ask a bit more specifically about these yamahas, as they seem good for the price compared to others around £300-400.
My worry is they'll be too big and beefy/powerful for my small bedroom, would this matter? I would go for the smaller HS50Ms but the bass response isn't as low, and I don't really want to have to get a sub. I see the other alternative as KRK Rokit RP6s, but I've read quit a lot of negative things about them.
So yeah bit stuck here, want to make the right choice for first monitors! Any advice appreciated.

Re: Yamaha HS80M Monitors
can't say about the monitors but you don't "reallllllly" need a sub anyways, my monitors go down to 70 and my tunes sound nice on a big system cause its like... what 30-40 hertz what are not being heard unless its on the bigger systems in the country/world ? Don't think my tunes suffer immensely because of it, plus I always check on headphones after just to make sure theres shit going on below the knock off point.boyd wrote:I've gone over all the monitors threads and loads of reviews, just wanted to ask a bit more specifically about these yamahas, as they seem good for the price compared to others around £300-400.

Then again believe it or not from being into this sound for ages... I don't even 'really' like really deep sub bass would rather hear something than feel it so my opinions bollocks.

Go get 'em, for me it was the bet investment in years. Love those speakers seriously!
If your room is small and all that, try some of those:

They are expensive, but for me they work wonders to tame the sometimes overwhelming bass. Sounds much more defined now in my 2,50 * 3,50 m room. And no, im not some kind of geek to spend x amounts of Eur for gear, they really work wonders (would have returned them otherwise
