whats the Name of the instrument?

Post by stomp tromp » Sun Feb 08, 2009 5:33 pm

The Others - Bushido

I've tried searching it but ended up finding the Samurai Warriors code of conduct. So anyone know what the string (I think its a string) instrument is played in this song it might be a sample but I've heard the instrumnet played in Asian films before.

Cheers

I _think_ it's a huqin but there are so many variations of Chinese string instruments that I'm not 100%.

edit: actually i think it's an erhu.

ye i think you like have to order one from some geezer in switzerland or austria or something and he makes it custom built for you. they play a single octave if i remember rightly which you choose when you order it and it costs just under a grand. nice. they do sound amazing though theres a guy who busks with one just outside the dam square in amsterdam he gets loads of pence cos it sounds sick..

WHAT IS the instrument in teh nameless vs sky fight scene in hero??? (in this vid clip)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBG05g4- ... re=related

i cant remember what theyre called and its killing me!
