Glitch Hop Thread - (320's)

Post by integrated grime unit » Sat Feb 14, 2009 3:56 am

The way I see it is that Drum & Bass was kind of like the mom. She's still a total MILF but now she's gettin' on a little bit in the years. These days everyone's looking at her hot young daughter Dubstep. But what people sometimes forget is that Dubstep has an even hotter younger sister named Glitch Hop. The only problem is that she's still a little too young. I guess what I'm trying to say here is that when she gets a little older...she's gonna be effin smokin'.

Here's where I invite everyone who's produced a tune between 80-110 bpm, with some crunkadellic synthesis, to post your tunes in here.

We can trade tunes, give each other advice, and spread a bit of love.

I'll get the ball rolling...

P.S. I'm aware this thread is not about dubstep but since Glitch Hop and Dubstep are sisters I'm hoping it will be allowed. I'm just tryin' to spread some love and trade some dubs...

Much Love,
Shaun

Global & Bevvy Swift are the two young fellows who make up Glitchy & Scratchy so it's pretty much the same thing.

haha, nice intro up there in the first post ^^

track sounds nice, however I can't see myself ever really getting into this genre or having many tracks on my computer, just not my style of music

For me it's the other way around. I was into Dubstep before I discovered Glitch Hop. Though you are right about kats like edIT, Vibesquad, & Bassnectar (among others) pushing Dubstep as of late. I actually wish they wouldn't. I don't think Glitch Hop was explored enough. The afore mentioned drop really dope Glitch Hop, and I would like to hear more before they abandon it all together for their version of 'glitchy' Dubstep. It is sooooo hard to accumulate a Glitch Hop collection worthy of mixing out. I've managed to buy/acquire about 200 tracks that are firmly within the realm of Glitch Hop (85-115 bpm), but I am craving a bit more.

If anyone out there can point me in the direction of any killa' blogs promoting Glitch like, Chrome Kids, or any other shops like Addictech, I'd really appreciate it.

By the way, thanks for the track, I.G.U. :D

Yeah, I've already gotten ALL the free tracks from Megasoid, & Lazer Sword that I could find. As well as all the 'Glitch-Type' tracks from Dorian Concept, Propa 'Tings, Glitch Mob (all members), Tipper, Si Begg, An-ten-ae, Gouseion, Mochipet, Nanda, Lawgiverz, ill.gates, Knowsleep, Skeetaz, Vibesquad, and many, many others. The thing is, I'll be looking at some of these 'free mixes' online and I notice shitloads of kats playing unreleased tracks by those artists. It can't be that ALL those kats are 'down' and getting exclusives straight from the source, so what I've been wondering is where are the blogs/forums passing these unreleased tunes out to the masses? I've been looking for the "dubstepforum" of the Glitch Hop scene for about a year (and a half) now...........where is it?!??

Ugghh.........it's frustrating. Though, it's kinda fun too. You are forced to scour the net for limited tracks from an even more limited genre.

Glitch is good. When I've got a moment I'll post up some artists that haven't been mentioned yet.

I just saw Glitch Mob (EdIT, Ooah, Kraddy, and Boreta) in Breckenridge last night...

They definitely threw down a solid set to a packed venue.

Personal highlights:

Remix of Day and Night (spun by Musa opening dj)

Fine Cut Bodies - Beaver Blink (Ooah Remix)
Hookerz & Blow - Cafe del Mar

both these preceding two tracks completely demolished it...

You see right there is what I'm talking about. Thanks derdankhund! I had never heard of Hookers & Blow (surprisingly!) before. I went to their MySpace, from there found two new blogs, and acquired a ton more tunes. I guess one must spend countless hours scouring, that's all there is to it. I imagine there is no magical forum at the end of the rainbow with all the goodies consolidated within. So be it.

Thanks again.

Thought I'd throw another tune up here cause it seems like we're all in the same boat...not enough glitch hop.

Also you guys can check out our myspace and hit me up in this thread with feedback/tune requests. That would be sweet.
