I don't spend much time listening to presets so I wouldn't recognize any tbh.

Ok, ill give another...

Benga - Lightbulb, Albino - Complexy Seq Arp (Sequence Sounds bank)

Most of these presets from tunes have been tweaked a little, usually delays, filters etc.. but the core sound is usually there.

(Abz, thanks for that, why reply if your not interested)

Never said I wasn't interested. Why do you need to get smart? I post here mostly because I am bored as fuck trying to get my post count up if you must know.

I've put the same preset as an ode to NI in the Sample pack i've just uploaded DSF.

I must confess, I just used 3 different presets in a toon, two are now pretty far gone, but the one, agh, its pretty much straight preset... and worse, its from a common synth, and it is the FIRST patch that the synth loads, ha ha ha ha. Unbelievable. I couldn't help it, it sounded exactly like what I wanted... what you gonna do?

The slightest mitigation is that this is a semi commercial toon for a website, but still, I've never done such a thing. Well actually... a couple of days a go, used brutal electro straight outta the box for the same website... ha I'm dying an artistic death! And I don't really care!
if people were really anal about this sort of thing, they'd buy a copy of Max/msp or Reaktor (or better still do DSP from C++) and build their own synths so that they we're completely and totally organic sound designers themselves from the sound source upwards. Either way at some stage people are using others designs.

Hope this doesnt turn into "dont use presets" arguement thread. Cause shit is all good as long a quality tune comes out. Hopefully it stays a cool geeky preset trainspotting thread.

Main one i picked out recently is Gemmys release on punch drunk, back 2 the future and bass transmitter, both use a preset appregio in reason. Cant remember what its called but its in malstrom somewhere.
Pretty prominent in the song back 2 the futre, and pretty much makes this preset unusable now cause it has been used so well! I will reedit the post and put the name in if i come across it again.

Hey djake, do you know what font that is on the red flier on hyperblazing.com, the large distressed font, not the pixelly one?

RESUME THREAD.
its called 'base 02'
http://www.dafont.com/base-02.font
pretty common, i didn't realise it was so overused, or i wouldn't have used it meself.

as for presets, i dunno...does a square wave running through a low pass filter count as a preset? i hear that in a lot of dubstep tunes

I dont think there is anything wrong with using presets tbh. When I look back at what people did with the 'hoover' preset on the Juno it hardly matters.

Skream - Either Flick or Filth. The stab noise is a preset called Lame on the Styrus that comes with FL.

There is also a Benga track that has a robot voice which is a preset sound that comes with FL. (something bass bass bla bla)
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.
