if you have a guitar on the street with a hat asking for money, you don't need a permit. he pulled up to the front of the mtv music awards red carpet, and turned on the speakers. he was basically asking for it, because any plugged in performance on the street like this with a truck, must involve the police because the sidewalk and street is considered city property. he didn't have any permits whatsoever, and paid for the whole thing out of his own pocket.doomstep wrote:seckle, was the charge for the public performance or using a sound system (operating sound re-production/amplification equipment in public without a permit) ?
just curious if the same thing would've happend if it'd been an acoustic/acapella peformance.

yeah, I'd assumed he knew full well what would happen & why. Breaking the law in front of cops isnt a great idea, esp when the camaras are on, I assume the po-lice where all there anyway for the mtv bit.
oh well I guess he can afford the fines, and he'll re-coup that anyways
