fell out of love with dnb last year after i didnt hear a single good release for about 6 months, but since Nightlife 4 i've opened my mind up again.
problem is its tough finding good mixes due to the massive number of shit bedroom DJs that play bad dnb.
can anyone link me to a dnb mix by a well-known DJ from the last month or two?
same for any decent tunes; i had a look through the top 20s on dogsdonacid/d&b arena but mostly found disgracefully unlistenable clones of Original Sin (not to say that O.S. isnt a genius

)
ps TC: what ?!?!?!?
is he serious?

depends what you want.. jump-up/dubwize, then download the weekly show of DJ Hype (or Bailey.. but Hype has more hot dubs)
if you want something into neuro-funk, try Spor's podcast or some of TeeBee's mixes
if you want the rough stuff, look for the Filthcasts (Barcode Recordings' podcasts)

don't know about nightlife, but i've been listening to d'n'b a lot more lately, even found some of it really quite exciting. d bridge and insra:mental are making some mesmerising tunes, lot of very well produced rollers on fabio's show recently. been enjoying the free metalheadz podcasts too.
and have you heard "printer jam" on hospital? INSANE!

These mixes are a bit different to the stuff you've been talking about in this thread so far, but this is the kinda D&B I like best ! Choppy beats, sub-bas, atmospherics

I need some dnb like
this, badly.
Look, I know that formula wise, this is nothing out of the ordinary, but this song (it's badly compressed and it doesn't do the song justice, but this'll have to do to do) is just so beyond good and has a different feel from most dnb.
It's his only song like this (trust me on this one, his take on dnb is usually more mellow or going into more of the Squarepusher'esque and RDJ'esque 'experimental jungle' directions |=) . I don't know what sets this song apart from so many other dnb tunes, but it sounds oddly refreshing. So yes, anything like this song please.

To be honest there is so much Dnb made that you don't really need to look for new stuff.
There is loads of old stuff that you probably haven't heard so try and find that!
Ed Rush and Optical are next level Dnb producers...

retarded article, saying dnb is dead, then going on to review several successful releases.
well

yep!
we had d-bridge playing here 2 weeks ago, absolutely amazing. played lot's of slow & minimalistic stuff, the crowds reaction was also really good! now he said there's a lot of this kind of dnb around recently. anybody knows any more names?
btw i'm a big fan of the autonomic podcasts, not only dnb though

Alongside dBridge & Instra:mental check out:
Consequence
Bop
Blocks
Data
Escher
Seba
Dub-One
Commix
Abstract Elements
Phuture T
Fanu
Reactiv
ASC
Nebula
D&B doing pretty nicely behind the scenes. Getting out the limelight has done it loads of good I feel. People need to end their prejudices about it though.

wow thanks mate! some names i didn't know yet. will check them out.. i agree with you too about the positive effect of losing the hype around dnb. i think there's been a big influence from the dubstep scene as well recently, not only musically (s p a c e) but also from the more open attitude towards new sounds and other genres. i heard many people say it reminded them of the early dnb-years..

Good list. Data is really doing big things in the scene atm. Pushing that minimal sound along with Instra:mental, Sabre etc.
Add to that list:
Random Movement
Spectrasoul
Sabaruko
Sinistarr
Sabre
Alix Perez
Sabre
Icicle
Proxima
Lynx
To the OP:
I really do recommend these two sets (Both from Alix Perez):
Alix Perez on Pyro Radio
Alix Perez B2B Sabre on DNBArena TV
