I moderate 3 forums and you can see the IP addy of every poster, the thing is...
there is no filtering when people sign up.
plus there is the fact that, I have a network at my house and my roomate, my girlfriend and I all have DSF accounts
you cant tell because we all post from the same IP

I don't think anyone goes as far as using multiple IDs to post crap do they?? (I may be wrong).
I think there are lots of valid n00b questions posted here that are asked qenuinely. What n00bs don't understand is that often the info they seek is already out there. If they're young and inexperienced in life, why would they neccesarily be empowered enough to use their logic to find out info for themselves? (When I was 15, I rarely did anything that others didn't get me involved in)
I find it logical to see n00bs sign up on a forum to ask questions about their new found interests. They see people with a similar interest discussing issues that arise through their hobby or occupation, thus why not post questions??
As for a few dickhead personalities ruining an otherwise good forum... I don't truly feel it is a problem. For people that want serious discussions about compression values and spectral resynthesis, fuck off to KVR or Studio Central or something.... I think the friendly banter and tomfoolery amongst a select few of DSF's members adds to a friendly atmosphere and feeling of community.
I laugh my arse off occasionally when I read some of the posts here, and the fine blend of juvenile humour and tech talk is what keeps me coming back everytime!

i think you are. someone mentioned on aim to me recently, that some them have admitted to doing this...futures_untold wrote:I don't think anyone goes as far as using multiple IDs to post crap do they?? (I may be wrong).
it's not a case of noobs questions it's more of case of some threads descending into shite because of the same few people being twats on a regular basis. this is where the issue lies.
i'm all up for a bit of comedy on here, don't get me wrong, but some of the threads recently have to just shite because of certain members posts. i for one would like to see this sorted out.
maybe the production forum is being ignored/overlooked by the mods is because it looks like, at a glance, that the average age is 14... a room full of mouthy kids with no real interest in production.

TBH nothing really bothers me on this forum. I sort of like my message boards slightly out of control and under moderated. So you won't hear me whinge. Plus if this forum is going to be all serious business all the time then I will probably have less time for this place because for me I produce for fun so I don't see any reason why you should have fun while talking about production. My 3 cents.
BTW, don't you have 3 or 4 aliases yourself FSTZ? I don't really have a problem with it, I am just saying.
