Making tracks that provide a profound listening experience while still being able to operate on a dancefloor is a talent that not many have. Those of you familiar with the productions of DJ Distance will know he is adept at such a craft, creating detail in his music that not only demands phsycal movement, but also a keen ear. Since his early productions on labels like Sting, Tectonic & Ringo (a collaboration with Skream), Distance has touched the works of Milanese & Dubchild, as well as releasing two full length albums on Planet Mu, the most recent being 'Repercussions' released in November 2008. He set up his own label Chestplate in 2007, the first of which featured Skream, with the other 4 releases being strictly solo affairs. The man caused absolute chaos when we last put him on two years ago at the bongo club as part of the triptych festival. To mark the occasion, we will also be showcasing a debut live MPC and echoplex set from Edinburgh based duo Akira Kiteshi, whose Pinball/Noglitch ep is smashing up everywhere it gets an airing as well as disc jockey actions from Mother Mark(flash harry from the rave cave) and, of course, The Electric Eliminators. Jeromes B.A.S.S system provides sonic reinforcements once again.
