San Juan is the summer equinox - longest day of the year. It's like a massive bonfire night/new year's - but not like England cos the bonfires are on the street !!!!! Completely anarchic with whole families throwing fireworks at each other and doing all the things with explosives you are not supposed to - there are no peeps from health and safety with clipboards. Not for the faint-hearted or those suffering from shellshock!
omg i have experienced this 'festival' twice now, its like being in Iraq on a bad day

This year will be my fourth Sonar but last year was the first time I experienced the san juan festival. Its a good laugh but crazy especially when random spaniards keep giving you free fireworks when your drunk.
Barcelona when sonar's on is always good I reckon. Even though the lineup seems to get worse each year there's always loads of other shit happening. The vice party was probably my highlight last year. X-102, Mala, Fly-Lo and TRG were all really good at Sonar.

I don't agree with this one. Line-up is every year BIG and renewing or how do you say that.

thinking back on everyone I saw last year haha. 2003 was the first year I went and the best year I've been probably because it was the first time though.

i've been looking around on the sonar site, am i being an idiot or are there no specific dates for when each artist is on?
i'm planning to get a night ticket just when the people i want to see are playing (mah showcase, onra, james pants, bullion)
i suppose they'll announce them in a bit probably

can't barcelona donate some of its sunshine to england so that our festivals aren't always grotty muddy affairs...?

will be my fourth time going to Sónar. Looking forward to it
If I end up dancing to Grace Jones playing La Vie En Rose I will actually have surpassed my gayest Sónar moment which was dancing to Chic playing "I want your love".

Just booked flights and tickets for this the other day. Cannot wait, it'll be my first time, i'm hoping for a minimal epiphany during Marcell Dettman. Also, according to myspace, Flying Lotus is playing at the Brainfeeder off-Sonar event on the Thursday night which will be a good warm up for the weekend. Accidentally slept through his set at the Big Chill last year so i'm glad i'll have another chance to catch him!
